The Poynting Excellence Scholarship is designed for international students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Physics or Astronomy at the University of Birmingham. This scholarship provides partial funding and is aimed at recognizing outstanding academic achievements.

Eligibility Criteria

• Open to all international students except UK nationals.
• Applicants must hold overseas fee-paying status upon acceptance.
• Cannot be combined with the Poynting Achievement Scholarship in the same year.
• Required academic achievements include:
  • A Levels: A in Mathematics or Further Mathematics, A in Physics, A in a third subject.
  • International Baccalaureate: Scores of 7 in Higher Levels including Mathematics and Physics.
  • Other qualifications from various international education systems that meet the equivalent standards.

Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship awards GBP 3,000 to successful candidates, which is disbursed during the first semester of the first year.
