The Kathryn Hohlwein Poetry Award of Merit is designed to support and encourage students of California State University, Sacramento who are pursuing degrees in English at both the Bachelor's and Master's levels. This scholarship provides partial funding of USD 400 and is open to students of all nationalities.

Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduates and unclassified graduate students, and 3.0 for classified graduates.
• Applicants must be pursuing English as their Major or Minor.
• Full-time enrollment at the time of application and award is required.
• Submission of up to 3 poems, not exceeding 5 pages in total. Entries must be typed on 8.5" × 11" white paper, with a cover page that includes the poet's name and poem title. The poet's name must not appear on the poem pages to ensure anonymous judging.
